Under the bark of a pine

Today I bring you two of my latest pinetree paintings in oil. The pinus canariensis, the Canary Island pine, is an evergreen tree with a very special property: it is fire resistant and regenerates after a bushfire. In my paintings I have the big "dancing pinetree" and a smaller detail of a pine. The big pinetrees can be found every now and then in the forest, and they are responsible for the perpetuation of the pines. As can be seen in my painting, forests on the Canary Islands show individual big pines with often black bark from bushfires surrounded by small pines. As a frame for these oilpaintings I have used the bark of the pine with black carbonised leftovers from the fires.
You can see these two paintings now exhibited in CIT Tigaday until end of May 2017.

Hoy os traigo dos de mis últimas pinturas del pino canario pintado en óleo. El pinus canariensis, pino canario, es un árbol de hoja perenne con una propiedad muy especial: es resistente al fuego y se regenera después de un incendio forestal. Hoy os quiero presentar dos pinturas: "el pino bailarín" y un detalle más pequeño de un pino visto desde abajo. Los pinos grandes, como se puede apreciar en "el pino bailarín", se pueden encontrar dispersos por el bosque y son responsables de la perpetuación del pinar. Como se puede ver en mi pintura, los bosques de las Islas Canarias tienen pinos muy grandes entre los más pequeños con la corteza negra de incendios forestales. El marco de estos dos cuadros en óleo es un tanto especial, es la corteza del pino con restos carbonizados de los incendios.
Estas dos pinturas están expuestas en CIT Tigaday hasta finales de mayo de 2017.

PRIMAVERA Exposición en CIT Tigaday

After a longer break I am happy to announce that currently you can visit an exhibition of my art in CIT Tigaday in Frontera, El Hierro, Canary Islands. The exhibition will be held until end of May 2017, don't miss the occasion and drop by! Little recommendation, to make sure it is open, the best time to come by is in the afternoon.
For those art lovers, if you wish, there you can purchase postcards with motives of my paintings, a nice souvenir to have.
In this exhibition everything is about the precious colourful spring on El Hierro. My latest paintings vary from pastel lilies, almond trees in flower painted with watercolours, forests in oil painting, big pine trees or the famous Sabina from El Hierro.
Below find a sneak peak of two very special paintings, spring almond flowers in watercolours and mixed technique and a pinetree forest bathed in yellow flowers.

Tengo el placer de anunciar que, tras una pausa, vuelvo con una exposición en CIT Tigaday, en Frontera, El Hierro, Islas Canarias. La exposición estará hasta finales de Mayo 2017, por lo que os animo aprovechar la ocasión y pasar por las instalaciones para ver la exposición. Recomiendo visitar el centro por las tardes. Para los amantes del arte, allí también podéis encontrar postales de algunos de mis cuadros, un bonito souvenir. 
En esta exposición todo gira en torno a la colorida primavera de El Hierro. Mis últimas pinturas expuestas varían de lilios en pastel a almendros en flor pintados con acuarelas, bosques en óleo, pinos enormes o la famosa Sabina de El Hierro. 
Os dejo con dos cuadros muy especiales, almendro en flor pintados con acuarela y técnica mixta y un pinar bañado de flores amarillas.
